Description of Amazonite Stone
Amazonite is a green to blue-green variety of microcline, a potassium feldspar. Many pieces show white streaks or a soft grid-like pattern that makes each stone slightly different. It rates about 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale and has perfect cleavage, so it needs careful cutting, but a finished piece takes a bright, silky polish.
