Description of Sunstone
Sunstone is a feldspar, usually oligoclase, with tiny reflective mineral platelets that create a glittering effect called aventurescence. Its colour ranges from peach and orange to reddish brown. It rates about 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale and takes a warm, glowing polish. The name Rainbow Sunstone is also used in the trade for mixed-colour bead lines.
