White Agate is a banded variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz, ranging from milky white to softly translucent with faint grey or cream lines. Its clean, pale look makes it one of the most versatile agates for décor. With a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7 it is durable, and it polishes to a glassy, almost porcelain-like finish.
